KaiRise AI Transparency & Responsible AI Policy

Effective Date: August 8, 2026  ·  Last Updated: August 8, 2026

1. Purpose

Artificial intelligence is central to the learning experiences delivered through KaiRise and AskMe™. This AI Transparency & Responsible AI Policy explains how we use artificial intelligence, the principles that guide our decisions, and the safeguards we employ to help ensure AI is used responsibly, securely, and ethically.

This Policy complements the KaiRise Terms of Service, Privacy Statement, Acceptable Use Policy, and Learning Integrity & AI-Assisted Assessment Policy.

2. Our Philosophy

At KaiRise, we believe AI should improve learning—not replace it. AskMe was designed to function as an AI coach that encourages curiosity, promotes critical thinking, provides individualized coaching, reinforces key concepts, supports instructors, and helps learners apply knowledge in realistic situations.

Our goal is not simply to generate answers. Our goal is to help people become better professionals.

We believe the best learning experiences combine human expertise, evidence-based instructional design, organizational knowledge, and responsible artificial intelligence.

3. How We Use AI

Artificial intelligence may be used throughout our Services to support learning, including:

Conversational Learning

Interactive coaching conversations that adapt to learner responses.

Personalized Coaching

Providing individualized feedback based upon learner submissions.

Scenario-Based Learning

Guiding learners through realistic workplace situations.

Reflection

Encouraging learners to explain reasoning, evaluate alternatives, and think critically.

Formative Assessment

Helping learners identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.

Summarization

Generating summaries for learners or instructors.

Instructor Support

Helping instructors understand learner progress and identify common misconceptions.

Organizational Knowledge

Using customer-authorized knowledge bases to personalize learning experiences for an organization's learners.

4. Human-Centered Learning

AI does not replace instructors. Depending upon how the Services are configured, instructors may review learner submissions, provide additional coaching, validate assessments, and configure learning objectives. Facilitators may supplement AI-generated feedback.

KaiRise believes the most effective learning environments combine AI assistance with human expertise.

5. AI Limitations

Artificial intelligence has limitations. AI-generated responses:

  • May contain factual errors
  • May occasionally misunderstand context
  • May be incomplete
  • May become outdated over time
  • Should not be treated as professional advice

Users should evaluate AI-generated information using appropriate professional judgment. Developing the ability to critically evaluate AI output is itself an important learning objective.

6. Human Oversight

KaiRise maintains human oversight over the development and operation of our AI-powered Services. Human oversight includes instructional design, platform development, quality assurance, customer support, model evaluation, prompt engineering, and policy development.

Where appropriate, instructors and organizational administrators may review learner interactions as part of the educational process.

7. Responsible AI Principles

Our AI development is guided by the following principles:

Learning First

AI should deepen understanding rather than replace learning.

Human Agency

Learners remain responsible for their own decisions, judgment, and professional actions.

Transparency

We strive to clearly communicate when AI is involved in generating content or feedback.

Fairness

We continually evaluate our instructional approaches to promote fair and equitable learning experiences.

Privacy

We design our Services to respect personal and organizational information.

Security

We implement technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect customer information.

Continuous Improvement

Responsible AI requires ongoing evaluation and refinement as technology evolves.

8. Customer Content

Organizations may upload knowledge such as policies, procedures, presentations, manuals, documentation, training materials, standard operating procedures, and product information. Organizations retain ownership of their content.

KaiRise uses uploaded content solely to provide the Services requested by that customer unless otherwise agreed in writing. We are committed to maintaining appropriate separation between customer environments and do not intentionally use one customer's proprietary knowledge to support another customer's learning experiences.

9. Learner Information

AI may process learner information necessary to deliver personalized learning experiences, including learner responses, uploaded documents, assessment submissions, coaching conversations, course progress, and interaction history. Our handling of personal information is governed by the KaiRise Privacy Statement.

10. AI Models

KaiRise may utilize one or more commercial or proprietary artificial intelligence technologies. To provide reliable and effective Services, we may update AI models, improve prompts, refine instructional workflows, introduce new AI capabilities, or replace underlying AI providers. These changes help us improve quality, reliability, safety, and educational effectiveness.

11. Model Providers

KaiRise may utilize third-party AI providers to generate educational responses. Those providers process information only as necessary to provide the requested AI functionality under contractual obligations designed to protect customer information. Additional information regarding subprocessors is available in our Subprocessor List.

12. AI Safety

KaiRise designs AskMe with safeguards intended to reduce misuse. These safeguards may include prompt controls, moderation mechanisms, access controls, authentication, monitoring for abuse, organizational isolation, and logging for operational and security purposes.

No AI system is perfect. We continually improve these safeguards as technology evolves.

13. Bias and Fairness

Artificial intelligence systems may reflect limitations present in training data or user inputs. KaiRise works to reduce inappropriate bias by evaluating instructional prompts, reviewing learning experiences, refining coaching methodologies, incorporating customer feedback, and continuously improving our platform.

We recognize that fairness is an ongoing process rather than a one-time achievement.

14. Security and Confidentiality

Protecting customer information is fundamental to our Services. We employ administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect learner records, uploaded organizational knowledge, AI conversations, assessment history, instructor reporting, and customer configurations. Additional information is available in our Security Overview.

15. Continuous Improvement

KaiRise continually evaluates learner outcomes, instructor feedback, customer experience, educational research, advances in artificial intelligence, and platform performance. These evaluations help us improve both the educational effectiveness and responsible operation of our AI-powered Services.

16. Our Commitments

KaiRise is committed to building AI that:

  • Supports learning rather than replacing it
  • Respects customer privacy
  • Protects organizational knowledge
  • Promotes critical thinking
  • Assists instructors
  • Encourages responsible use of artificial intelligence

We recognize that trust must be earned continuously through transparency, security, and responsible stewardship of the technology we build.
